Privacy Policy

Confluence Surf measures how many search listings agree with a claim. This policy explains what data that requires, who processes it, and how you can have it deleted.

Overview

Confluence Surf (confluence.surf) is operated by Casey Zeke. The service reads live listings from Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo, and Yahoo via SerpAPI, scores how many agree with your claim, and shows the disagreement too. High agreement means widely repeated — not proven true.

Data we collect

  • Account data: sign-in identity and display name from Neon Auth.
  • Queries and claim text you submit, plus saved queries tied to your account.
  • Agreement feedback: disagree votes and stance corrections you send.
  • Usage and quota data: surf counts, plan, billing state, and query audit history.
  • Billing records: Stripe subscription and payment status (we never see full card numbers).
  • Device and cookie identifiers used for sign-in sessions, free-trial limits, and abuse prevention.
  • Basic error and performance logs when something breaks.

How we use data

  • Run the service: fetch listings, score agreement, and render your results.
  • Enforce quotas and rate limits, and keep free trials to one per browser.
  • Process subscriptions, refunds, and billing support through Stripe.
  • Improve agreement scoring and calibration from aggregate feedback.
  • Prevent abuse and keep the service secure.

We do not sell your personal data and we do not run third-party advertising.

Sharing and subprocessors

We share the minimum data needed with these processors:

  • SerpAPI — receives your query text to return live search listings.
  • Stripe — processes payments, subscriptions, refunds, and billing webhooks.
  • Neon (database and Auth) — stores accounts, queries, quotas, and audit history.
  • Cloudflare — hosts the app, serves pages, and provides security and caching.

Query text is sent to SerpAPI so the engines can answer; do not enter sensitive personal details in claims. We also disclose data if required by law.

Cookies

Cookies are required — the app cannot work without them. We use:

  • Sign-in session cookies that keep you logged in.
  • A long-lived device cookie that binds free-trial searches to one browser.
  • A short-lived probe cookie that detects whether cookies are enabled.

Blocking cookies disables sign-in, free trials, and billing. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Retention

  • Account data: kept while your account is active.
  • Saved queries and audit history: kept while your account is active, or until you delete them.
  • Canceled accounts: kept for billing history; surf access ends when the paid period ends.
  • Error logs: kept briefly for debugging, then discarded.

Your rights and deletion

You can ask for a copy of your data or for deletion of your account, queries, and feedback at any time. Send a message identifying your account and we will confirm once it is done.

Security

Traffic is encrypted in transit, sessions use HttpOnly cookies, and database access goes through authenticated server connections. No system is perfectly secure, so avoid submitting sensitive personal details in claims.

Children

Confluence Surf is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. Accounts found to belong to children under 13 will be removed.
